How to hit your sales targets

Here are two questions for you to think about over your next coffee:

  1. What’s your sales target for the month?

  2. What are you going to do to hit it?

These two simple questions highlight the fundamental choice business owners must make:

  • To go after sales targets with deliberate plans, or

  • Simply wait and see what happens.

To be active or passive.

To "go get it", or wait and see what comes along.

Some of our clients are big on setting targets, then figuring out how to hit them. They say there’s something magic when you focus on a target and start brainstorming ideas of how to achieve it.

Then, there's others who say that doesn’t work for them, their business is the sort that can only respond to the needs of the market.

If that’s case, at least be sure you’ve done all you can to make the most of it when your customers call!

Be ‘actively passive’.

The PBR approach is to Plan, Budget then Regularly Report on progress.

  • Hold a strategy session to set the Plan. (One hour is usually enough).

  • Create a Budget which reflects the plan, and identifies the costs you’ll incur.

  • Then Regularly Report on progress.

You can then adapt and adjust your actions as needed.

This is the most effective approach if you want to have control over your business and your future.
